Ridge aerator for bituminous tiles

Set back the minimum of 150 mm from the edge of the roof, cut the 40 mm wide hole using a circular saw with the blade set to depth to cut through the timber cladding. Leave the closed flashing area of 150 mm at both ends of the roof to ensure the integrity of the gable flashing boards.

Install the ridge aerator over the cut vent along its entire length, making sure the aerator is flush with the roof. Connect the ridge aerators using end latches. When you reach the other edge of the roof, the last section of the aerator may need to be cut to length. Cut the last part so that it is flush with the gable.

Attach the aerators to the ridge using special mounting holes. You can use galvanized screws of 50-65 mm or galvanized roofing nails with a wide cap of 60-70 mm to fasten the aerators.

Start the installation of the ridge tiles downwind (against the prevailing wind direction). Nail the ridge tiles to the “LOAD LINE” markings using nails of sufficient length to meet building code and shingle manufacturer requirements. For a beautiful look, pull the ridge tiles to cover the edge of the aerator or trim the overhangs with a utility knife.
Minimum installation temperature: +10°С
